Activities of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia
This subclass includes:
- Issuance of the currency of the Republic of Armenia, organization and regulation of money circulation
- Development and implementation of the monetary policy of the Republic of Armenia
- Banking services of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, financial agency and advisory services
- Lender of last resort to the banks of the Republic of Armenia
- Licensing of banks (and also, in cases provided for by law, other persons), regulation and supervision of their activities
- Regulation and supervision of the activities of the payment and settlement system
- Possession, use and management of the international reserves of the Republic of Armenia
- Implementation of operations with the International Monetary Fund
Banking activities
This subclass also includes:
- provision of postal money order settlements (giro settlements) and other services by savings banks
Other monetary intermediation
This class includes:
- activities of specialized institutions engaged in granting loans for the purchase of housing, accepting deposits and placing them
- activities related to money transfers.
Excludes:
- activities of specialized institutions engaged in granting loans for the purchase of housing, which do not accept deposits and place them, see 64.92.9
- processing and settlement of credit cards related to commercial transactions, see 66.19.0
Holding companies
This class includes the activities of holding companies that hold the assets of subsidiaries or entities as controlling shareholders, ensuring the management and control of those entities or entities. Holding companies classified in this class do not perform administrative functions for commercial entities in which these assets are involved and are not managed by other entities.
This class excludes:
- the management and control of the activities of other entities or entities, strategic and organizational planning, see 70.10
Activities of credit, money-lending and similar financial institutions
This class includes the activities of legal entities (other than management services) organized for the purpose of distributing securities and other financial assets on behalf of shareholders and beneficiaries of loans. When distributing financial capital, certain characteristics of investments are taken into account: diversification (spreading investments across different financial instruments to reduce risk), risks, level of return, price fluctuations. These institutions receive interest, dividends or other income from ownership as a result of their activities, without providing or providing minimal services and without receiving fees for the provision of services.
This class includes:
- activities of open-ended investment companies
- activities of closed-ended investment companies
- management of loans, property or agency accounts on behalf of beneficiaries, based on loan agreements, intentions and brokerage agreements
- lending of units by trust funds.
Excludes:
- activities of credit, money-lending organizations, the income of which is derived from the sale of goods and the provision of services, classified in the appropriate classes of main activity
- activities of holding companies, see 64.20
- pension provision, see 65.30
- fund management, see 66.30
Finance leases
This subclass includes:
- finance leases when they cover approximately the expected useful life of the assets and when the lessee substantially obtains all the benefits of use and assumes all the risks incidental to ownership. The assets may or may not be negotiable. Such leases include all or substantially all of the costs, including interest.
Excludes:
- operating leases, classified according to the type of goods leased, see division 77
Other credit granting
This class includes:
- consumer credit granting
- long-term financial loans to industry
- financing of international trade
- lending of money outside the banking system
- activities of specialized institutions providing loans for the purchase of housing, which are not engaged in the acceptance and placement of deposits.
Excludes:
- activities of specialized institutions providing loans for the purchase of housing, which are also engaged in the acceptance and placement of deposits, see 64.19
- activities related to operating rental and leasing, classified according to the type of goods rented, see division 77
- activities of other membership-based institutions, see 94.99
Other financial intermediation, not included in other groupings
This subclass includes:
- other financial intermediation services, mainly related to the distribution of other financial resources, except for the provision of loans: functions related to swaps, options and other financial instruments
- activities of companies conducting futures transactions
- investment activities with own funds: investment of risk (venture) capital in organizations, activities of investment clubs, etc.
Excludes:
- financial leasing, see 64.91
- securities dealing on behalf of others, see 66.12
- real estate, leasing and other activities of owned or leased real estate, see division 68
- activities of collecting rent and preparing reports on credit transactions, see 82.91
- provision of gratuitous loans (benefits, subsidies) by other membership-based organizations, see 94.99
Life insurance
This subclass includes:
- guaranteed distribution of payments (with or without a significant savings element) of permanent periodic premiums and insurance policies, insurance policies for loss of income due to disability, accidental death or amputation
Insurance, except life insurance
This subclass includes:
- provision of insurance services other than life insurance, such as accident and fire insurance, health insurance, travel insurance, property insurance, land insurance, water insurance, air insurance, financial loss insurance, civil liability insurance, etc.
Reinsurance, other than life reinsurance
Pension insurance
This class includes legal entities (pension insurance schemes, funds and/or plans) whose activities are aimed at providing retirement income exclusively for their employees or members of the organization. It includes defined benefit pension schemes as well as individual schemes where the income is directly determined by the contributions made by the member.
This class includes:
- employee benefit schemes
- pension funds and schemes
- pension payment schemes.
Excludes:
- management of pension funds, see 66.30
- compulsory social insurance schemes, see 84.30.0
Financial markets management
This class includes:
- the operation and supervision of financial markets, except for supervision by government bodies, including the conclusion of commodity exchange contracts, commodity forward contracts, securities exchanges, stock exchange operations, commodity and securities option exchanges
Stock exchange operations in securities
This class includes:
- carrying out operations in financial markets on behalf of others (for example, stockbroking services) and related activities
- brokerage in securities
- brokerage in commodity contracts.
This class excludes:
- carrying out operations in financial markets on own account, see 64.99
- management of funds on a fee or contract basis, see 66.30
Activities of currency exchange offices and similar offices
Activities auxiliary to financial intermediation, except insurance and pension provision
This class includes activities auxiliary to financial intermediation, not included in other groupings:
- financial transaction processing and settlement activities, including credit card transactions
- investment advisory services
- activities of mortgage advisers and brokers
- trustee, fiduciary and custodian services on a fee or contract basis.
Excludes:
- activities of insurance agents and brokers, see 66.22
- fund management, see 66.30
Insurance risk and loss assessment activities
This class includes the provision of insurance-related organizational services (e.g., contract risk assessment and claims settlement):
- insurance claims assessment: verification of validity, assessment of insured losses and damages, loss assessment, authorization of claims payments
- insurance claims settlement.
Excludes:
- real estate appraisal, see 68.31
- appraisal for other purposes, see 74.90
- conducting investigations, see 80.30
Activities of insurance agents and brokers
This class includes:
- activities of agents and brokers involved in selling, negotiating or brokering insurance and reinsurance contracts
Other activities auxiliary to insurance and pension provision
This class includes activities related to or directly related to insurance and pension provision (except financial intermediation, insurance claims settlement, insurance agent activities): salvage management, other insurance services.
Excludes:
- salvage activities of seagoing vessels, see 52.22
Fund management
: This class includes activities related to the management of funds on a fee or contract basis for individuals, legal entities and others:
- management of mutual funds (open-end funds managed by investment companies)
- management of other investment funds
- management of pension funds
