This class includes: - collection of water from rivers, lakes, wells, etc. - collection of rainwater - purification of water for water supply purposes - treatment of water for industrial and other purposes - desalination of seawater and other saline water sources for the production of water (as a main product) - distribution of water through water supply networks, machinery, etc. - operation of irrigation canals. This class excludes: - operation of irrigation installations for agricultural purposes, see 01.61.1 - treatment of sewage to prevent pollution, see 37.00.0 - long-distance transport of water through pipelines, see 49.50.0
